Saint Xavier Today

By Sammi Powers

Does anyone read Saint Xavier Today?

My guess is the answer is no. I’m hazarding this guess because, more often than not, I’m the only one spouting off some information or an interesting tidbit that I found there.

A lot of important information gets put up on SXT, believe it or not. Take, for example, the fact that today there was an update on the Presidential Search process. The chairman of the Board of Trustees issued a statement saying that they had identified a candidate for the presidency, and more than that; they’re now in negotiations with this candidate and expect to release a formal announcement regarding this person soon.

How many of you knew that? If you knew that, was it because you read SXT or because somebody told you?

All kinds of important stuff come up in SXT. I mean, sure there are things that I tend to skip over, like sports scores, but maybe those things really interest you.

SXT is a wealth of information that keeps you up to date on what’s going on at the University around you. Plus, it’s located on the intranet, which means that there’s actually more informative stuff going up.

Did you know that you can see the menu for the Diner or Maurice’s before you even get there? (Well, usually).

If you go to the quick links drop down menu and click Dining Services it brings you to where you can check out that day’s menu. I find this to be beneficial in making my decision as to whether or not I’ll be eating Subway for lunch…. Again.

I cannot stress the importance of reading SXT. It fills you in on everything going on here on campus. From food to who’s being hired to new committees and activities—SXU Today is probably the quickest and easiest way to keep yourself in the know.
