Welcome Back!

By Anthony Maziur
It’s that time of year again everyone! Student blogs are back and hope everyone is looking forward to hearing from us throughout the semester.

Unfortunately, this is my last semester because I am graduating in May. Sad, I know. There are a bunch of different things happening around campus this semester that should make for a really enjoyable spring term. I know I will be talking about the majority of the events as they get closer, and also about the different sporting events as well, but this week I decided to inform everyone about the SXU Indoor Duathlon. Here is a brief overview of the event. It will be hosted on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 8:00am-2:00pm at the Shannon Center’s Indoor Track. There are two different time slots available, 8:00am-11:00am and 11:00am-2:00pm. It consists of a 15 minute run/walk, a 15 minute stationary bike ride, and followed by another 15 minute run/walk, with 5 minute transitions between each race. Medals will be given to the overall top five males and females of the Duathlon. There will also be refreshments available throughout the race.

This is a very fun event and it all takes place up on the track on the second floor of the Shannon Center. For more information on this event and to register for it, please stop at the front desk inside the Shannon Center. The event is $15 for SXU students, $20 for SXU staff/Shannon Center Members, and $25 for non members age 18 and older. I hope to see everybody at this event; it should be an awesome time! Also, feel free to comment on my post if you have any questions or concerns. Again, I hope to see some of you out there and I look forward to writing about more SXU events. See ya next week!
